Aluminum, steel, and ornamental systems
Aluminum is lightweight and naturally corrosion resistant, while steel can offer greater rigidity and impact resistance when properly protected. Prefabricated panels and custom-fabricated work serve different budgets and design goals.
Plan around slopes, openings, and spacing
Metal panels may rack with a slope, step down in sections, or require custom transitions. Picket spacing, bottom gaps, gate widths, and latch details should reflect pets, children, security, and any use-specific requirements.
Coatings and long-term care
Powder-coated and factory-finished systems reduce routine finish work, but cut edges, fasteners, impacts, and incompatible metals deserve attention. Proposals should identify the material and finish system being offered.
